Last Kit From the Contest

Here it is, the final round kit!  I think it's my favorite, I just love the colors and all the glitter!

A Nice Break

Today my SIL took my 3 year old out for lunch, the movies, and ice cream!!!  While they were gone, the little one was taking his nap!  Yay for me, I had some free time today.  Is everyone else dying for preschool to start again?  I feel like I'm getting nothing done.

I'm Baaaaack!

How was everyone's holiday?  I had the most wonderful time!!  We had a lot of different family events to attend and so I was busy as anything.  But, I already have my decorations down, whew, that's a relief!  I know New Year's is still a few days away, but we don't do much for it.  My hubby and I usually just get a bottle of Asti, some yummy snacks, and lounge on the couch waiting for the ball to drop.  So, I'm ready to get back to work!  I have some really exciting new things in store for this blog.  I am having so much fun with it, but I really want to make it more interactive.  I'm going to be implementing some challenges and it's going to be a ton of fun!!   

For today, I have the next contest kit for you!  It is the Blue Jay Road kit, I love this one.  I hope you all have some great beachy pictures to use with it.

Road Trip Day

My SIL, my 2 boys, and I traveled from NC to PA today to surprise the in-laws with a Christmas visit. We made all of them cry, they had NO idea, nobody slipped up and said anything. It was the best surprise ever!!! But, since I'm in PA without my harddrive, I can't post any freebies for you until I get back. Well, I guess I should say after Christmas. We will be back on the 23rd, but we will be busy, busy, busy getting ready for Santa. I hope you all have the most wonderful holiday, whichever one you celebrate!! I do have to say that last night I had my air on because the temp got up to 76 in my house and today there is snow on the ground and ice on the trees and it is only 24, brrrrrrr!!! The great thing, we are celebrating Chrismas morning here tomorrow so we get to have a white christmas, yay!!!

Bad News

Well, bad news for me, but good news for you.  I didn't make it through the contest, however, I am very proud that I made it to the final round.  The good news for you is now you can have my kits for free!  So, I will start at the beginning with the 1st round.  So much for the last christmas gift yesterday, right, lol!  Pretty, pretty please show me your wonderful creations!!  I really would love some inspiration for my own pages!!  I just want to thank you all again, I don't feel so bad about not making it because I know I can create things for you and you really appreciate it, love you guys!!

Anxiously Awaiting

The designer contest is over, but I am still anxiously awaiting the results.  I have been trying to stay away from the computer because it makes the waiting worse.  I'm going on a trip for the weekend and now I'm not even sure I'm going to find out before I leave!!!  This is killing me!  But, since I am going away and won't be back until the 23rd, I wanted to give you all a final christmas gift from me!  Some more chrismassy word art!  I hope you all have the most wonderful holiday and I will see you after christmas!!  Hopefully with really good news!!  Actually, if I find out I got an apprentice spot you will find out before christmas because I will be too excited to hold it in!!

Nothin'

I'm picturing Yukon Cornelius in Rudolph, you know who I mean? He keeps looking for silver and gold and when he licks his little spike thing he says "Nothin'." I think it's funny, but anyway today I have nothin'. Sorry guys! My father in law was able to stop by again and he took us out to dinner. He drives tour buses and they are trading some in, but they have to drive from PA to Florida to do that. So, he passes through NC and, of course, had to come see his grandsons again! So, no freebie today, but I'm sure there will be one tomorrow!

Are You Ready Yet?

For Christmas that is. I am, I can't wait for Christmas morning. It is so much fun when you have little ones whose eyes light up because Santa left them presents under the tree!! Each year gets more fun because our oldest, who is 3, understands more and more each year! We have a Christmas countdown that holds mini candy canes and we told him when the candy canes run out that's when Santa would come. He always says, "Santa comes tonight?" and we have to ask him if there are still candy canes and he checks and says "Yes, not tonight yet." When he comes out with silly little words for other words we call them Aidanisms, so the Aidanism for today is icepickle for icicle, lol! I thought that was so cute!

I just got back from my mom's annual holiday party. The food was so delicious!! We always leave pretty early because the kids have to go to bed, but we enjoy ourselves while we are there.

A Happy Time of Year

Besides Christmas, December is a very busy time for our family. Zachary just had his birthday on the 9th. Yesterday, the 11th was our 4 year anniversary! We had the most beautiful Christmas wedding you can imagine and we are still going strong. It definitely does not feel like 4 years, which is probably a good thing! We have been together for 8 1/2, wow! Now that I'm writing this, I feel like I should have made some lovey dovey word art for today, but instead you can have more Christmas! Here are 2 of my favorite pictures from our wedding!

I only started this blog in October and it is totally taking off! More exciting news, Creative Busy Hands Digital Freebies Search found ME!! I'm listed there, go check them out! And the final exciting news, I think I am done my final round items for the designer contest at DSP! I'm too nervous to post it tonight, I have to look over it again tomorrow and make sure everything is perfect to me with fresh eyes! But, I am letting you see it tonight. A Year Gone By

This time last year, I was at a Christmas party desperately hoping that my baby would come early. He was due on Dec. 26th and I really did not want to be in the hospital for Christmas. As it turns out, he arrived 2 1/2 weeks early! Zachary was born on December 9th, that's tomorrow! How is he 1 year already? We have had a rollercoaster of a first year with him, but we made it in one piece. He has already had more hospital visits and head bumps than his 3 year old brother! I took his 1 year portraits today and I just have to share! Isn't he the cutest?

A Lazy Day

I just got my shower, yikes!! We were just playing with the boys all morning. All our christmas stuff is done and we didn't have anywhere to go, so we just hung out! It was fun! They are napping now, so I get to play on the computer! Hope the rest of your weekend is fantastic!

This is the layout I made with the kit from the contest. Since I don't scrap heritage, this picture was my inspiration for the whole kit. This is one of my favorite pictures of my grandparents, so I loved making a page with it. I thought it turned out so pretty, so I made it into a quick page for you!

I Made It!!!!

I made it through to the final round of the designer contest!!! This round we have to do a "modern and trendy" kit with colors that they provided and also an extra embellishment pack to go with it. I already have some ideas floating around in my head! I have until Dec. 15th to get it done, wish me luck!!! Today we went to visit Santa for cookies and milk at my husband's company, it was really cute. My 3 year old asked for popcorn, if every year was that easy, right? Then we went to see a Christmas parade afterwards, it was long, but the kids loved it. We were all bundled up and my 3 year old was waving to everybody and saying Merry Christmas! Because of all that I have no freebie, but I hope to get something done for you today or tomorrow!! Until then, enjoy your holiday preparations!

Another Round Done

The 4th round of the designer finder contest at DSP is due today. This round was the toughest yet because the theme was heritage. I don't scrap heritage, but I did find a picture of my grandparents wedding, so that was my inspiration. I made a little sampler for you from the pieces. We'll see if I make it through to the next round, hopefully by Saturday! Here are the pictures of my kit and my add on pack!

Computer Nightmares!

The past few days have been technology disaster world in my house! My desktop has a virus and my laptop power connector doesn't want to work. Right now, I am at my mom's house on her computer. Granted, both computers are OLD! My desktop only has 512 MB of ram, what does that tell you? So, we do need new computers, we just weren't preparing to get one quite yet. Anyway, I think (I hope!!!) I can get my husband to agree to get me a new computer for Christmas!! Keep your fingers crossed. Oh yea, I'm panicking because the next round for the designer contest is due Friday and everything was breaking down on me. Luckily, all of the digital stuff is on a huge external drive, so I will be toting that to my mom's for the rest of the week. I am almost done my contest stuff, thank goodness! Enjoy the blog party freebie if you haven't gotten it, I don't have anything for you today, hopefully tomorrow!
