I'm Back

I had a whirlwind past few days! We had so much fun with our visiting family. On Thanksgiving we also celebrated Christmas since we won't be seeing them on the actual Christmas day. The kids had a blast! Then on Friday, we celebrated Zachary's 1st birthday since everyone was here! His actual birthday is December 9th. We had 5 kids here, so we sang Happy Birthday 3 times because all of the kids wanted to blow out the candles, lol! Then they were all lined up around Zachary so we let each one open presents for him. I have the cutest pictures of the whole experience. It was the quickest birthday present unwrapping ever, but it was so cute! Yesterday we got our Christmas tree and decorated the house, indoors and out! But, that means we are done. The only thing I have left to do is cards and some minor shopping. All the gifts in the house are wrapped already, yay! So, you can see why I haven't posted anything the past few days! I was in the birthday spirit so I made some WA for you for today! Enjoy it!

The Joys of Boys

As I said yesterday, we have family in town. One of them is my cousin's 4 year old. So, he and my 3-year old play together really nicely. They were sitting in the play area driving cars around and making car noises. It was really cute! My little one was getting spoiled by his Aunt and, of course, she was loving it. I really think that little boys are the sweetest things! Whoever said they were made of snips, and snails, and puppy dog tails were not talking about mine, lol!

Pretty Quick Page

This round of the designer contest has 3 parts. The first part was to make a layout using our kit from the last round, which was my Blue Jay Road kit. So I got that done and figured I would make it into a Quick Page for you all! I'm going to try to keep posting the next few days, but we do have family coming into town for Thanksgiving. A Kit Today

I Made It Through

Through the elimination for the designer contest at DSP. We now have a 3-part challenge that's due in 2 weeks. It has to be heritage style, I have never done heritage style before so it will be a challenge for me. But, I was so excited to make it through. I wasn't here yesterday because I got all my Christmas wrapping done, woohoo! I needed to get Christmas stuff out of the way so that I could concentrate on my next kit. Since I was wrapping yesterday, I am now in the Christmas mood and so I made you some Christmas fibers for today!

So Tired

It's only 6:30pm and I'm ready for bed, lol! Staying up for Twilight last night is taking it's toll. We got home around 3am and the kids woke us up at 7am, 4 hours is definitely not enough. But, it was worth it. The movie was as good as the previews made it out to be, we really enjoyed it. And we learned our lesson with Harry Potter to not compare book and movie. Although, the Twilight movie really stayed mostly true to the book. They kept some classic lines and it was very similar to the book. Plus, Stephanie Meyer had a cameo! It was very good. Beware of one of the trailers though if you aren't into horror flicks. I hid my eyes and I was still jumping because of my friend next to me who was watching it, lol! It was a fun girls night out, we went out to eat first and to Barnes and Noble and Starbucks. We needed that caffeine boost!

Calling All Twilight Fans!

Anyone else going to see the midnight show tonight? My SIL and I are going and can't wait. We actually went to New York for the Stephanie Meyer's concert series and it was totally amazing! We are definitely twilighters!! I don't have a freebie done for today, I'm a bit behind on the cleaning and we're having company. So, just this quick post and a shout out to all the other twilighters out there!

A Long Day

Being in the midst of this designer contest is wearing me down. I can't sleep when I have a ton of ideas in my head, so I stayed up until 1am the past 2 nights and today it hit me. I was tired all day, the kind of tired where you feel woozy. I finally got my 3rd round done today so I can sleep soundly tonight, lol! This is the first elimination round so I was really nervous to post it, but I like it a lot and I suppose that's what matters the most in the end. Here is a picture of the whole kit. The freebie for today is the background papers from the kit. If you're lucky, I'll get hired at DSP and then you can have the whole kit!

It's A Zoo Out There

My hubby and I went christmas shopping for the kids today at Toys R' Us. WOW! It was packed and it didn't help that they were having some sort of tournament in the front of the store. But, we got it all done. All I have left to do is photo gifts for the rest of the family and that is easy because it's internet shopping, yay!

From Now On

I started as a 200 ppi person, dabbled in 300ppi and here is what I think. 200ppi rocks!! My computer works so much faster and I can fit a lot more stuff. I've read a lot about both and everyone I know who has printed in both can not see a difference. So, from now on I am going to design in 200ppi only. You guys want more stuff, right? I need the time and the space to design the things that I do and 200 ppi gives me that! So, I hope you don't mind. If you want to check out lots of posts regarding this go to Digital Scrapbook Place. Their designers work only in 200ppi, which is why I started in 200ppi. So, they have a lot of people who have printed both.

Anyway, here is another template for you! I don't think I ever mentioned, but the template files come in PSD and JPEG files for your convenience! Enjoy!

Every Other Commercial

Have you noticed the commercials lately, for those of us without Tivo that is, there are Christmas commercials just about every other one! I know that the Christmas season always starts early, but I just bought my first present today! Don't get me wrong, Christmas is my absolute favorite season, I got married on December 11th, but I don't like to get started until after Thanksgiving. Now my baby's birthday is December 9th, he will be 1. So I feel like I need to wait until after his birthday to get all christmassy. He was due December 26th, he came really early, we were so happy because we didn't want him to have to share Christmas with his birthday! Now, it's far enough away that we can wait to decorate and all that. Anyway, for those of you who have made it through my rambling, here is a freebie for you. Round 2 of Designer Finder Contest

I posted my entries for the second round! We had to make a layout using the kit we made last time and then they gave us a color scheme and we had to make backgrounds. I think they turned out pretty good, I hope the judges think so! If you haven't been to Digital Scrapbook Place you should go check it out, it is the best digiscrappin community! The Fall Colors

Fall comes a little later here than other parts of the country, but it has finally arrived and the leaves are gorgeous this year! There is one tree along the road to my house that is bright red! I don't think I have ever seen a tree that color. I have to take my camera out and go get some pictures of that one. It is amazing! My 3 year old keeps saying "Mommy, the trees are so beautiful." He heard me say it first, it's so cute!

The freebie today is more for your summer picture! You can use it when you need to warm up in the winter months! I have a LO that I did with it too! This is a picture from our trip to Bermuda in 2007 for my brother's wedding. That trip inspired this kit, Treasures of Atlantis!

A Historic Moment

If you stayed up to watch Barack Obama's speech last night, there was no way you could not be moved! I am so honored to be a part of a historic moment like this. Whether you agree with Obama or not, you have to be awed by the way he pulled all parts of this country together. It was an amazing thing to watch happen and be a part of. I want all of you to take a moment and just revel in history in the making!

Did You Remember?

To turn your clocks back yesterday? I did, but the kids were a little off schedule today. They adjust pretty quickly though, so tomorrow they should be fine. We all have colds, it started with Aidan and he passed it to the rest of us. I hate having a cold, expecially a stuffy nose!

Digiscrappers Are Awesome!!

But you already knew that! Seriously, I just looked at my hit counter and I already have over 1,000 hits!! This is so exciting! I love the comments too, keep them coming!!

I Have Pictures!

I have a picture of my little cowboy and indian for you today! Aren't they the cutest? The indian headress was my dad's, my mom thinks it's probably 40 years old! My brother wore it for Halloween when he was little too.

I made a little mini kit for you today for your freebie. Here are some layouts I made with it. I think you can tell that it was based off of these pictures, lol!

This kit is 200 ppi, I just wanted to let you know since the rest has been 300 ppi. I actually can't tell a difference and I prefer 200 because it gives me more space on my computer. But, I know the majority of digiscrappers use 300. Anyway here it is!Download it here!
